What engages you most on the Internet? This question is mingling in my mind from last few days. Undoubtedly, Google would be the response of the most of the persons. But, I do believe that except googling, there should be some websites which you surf regularly and more often. It is the website which have been a kind of addiction to you and if you could not manage some time to surf its content for a day, you feel like you are missing something today. There should be some websites which is automatically typed on address bar when you are confused what to surf for. Again, such websites might be a couple of as well. Let me sort out my own:
When I start browsing, I start with Google News. Then I move to BBC News. Now, its time for news related to Nepal. Now it comes, eKantipur, My Sansar, Online Khabar and Himal Khabar. Now emails; GMail, LUT email and Hotmail. Now online communities; Facebook, You Tube. Then, other regular stuffs like study matters, blogs and some occasional stuffs.
But, what repeats the most? hmm... I think, I browse My Sansar, Online Khabar and Facebook more than 10 times a day. I should confess, I will be bit disappointed by Umesh when I could not find any update on My Sansar. He have exams these days, so there are few but fruitful updates. I am really excited by his latest attempt to live broadcast from his blog. Online Khabar, I think, it is one the few online news sites of Nepal to update frequently. Though its news quality is just satisfactory, but, I rely on it for being informed about updates. Facebook is really favorite one online community. I don't know what makes me so attracted towards it, but I really enjoy by showing my presence there. Hanging for a long time in Facebook has been my routine these days. It actually binds me with my friends. Facebook is bridging physical distance with my friends. We are sharing same platform though being on separate continents. I love Facebook.
Web and Internet are a kind of addiction to me. I don't hesitate to declare I am addicted with Internet. And, the newer version of addiction in Internet is Online communities. Whether you talk about Blogs by Blogger and Wordpress or Facebook and Hi5 or even You Tube, Podcast and Flickr; all these online communities are binding us together.
oops, I don't know what I am writing for. I just composed this blog thinking I will share with you about my dependency on Internet, but I ended up piling some boring stuffs. Anyway, sometimes reading boring stuffs also makes fun !! Enjoy !!
